Rigorous mathematical analysis of numerical methods: norms, error analysis, linear systems, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, iterative methods of solving non-linear systems, polynomial and spline approximation, numerical differentiation and integration, numerical solution or ordinary and partial differential equations.

Prerequisite(s): FORTRAN programming or consent of department.
