BEHV 4300 - Culturally Responsive Ethics and Professionalism in Applied Behavior Analysis

The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of a) culturally responsive decision-making in the context of a rapidly diversifying practice context; b) the benefits, complexities, and characteristics of ethical conduct within the science and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis; and c) their own core values and cultural biases. The themes of this course are to promote the value of ethical behavior, to provide guidelines for ethical decision-making, to promote well-being across care recipients of diverse skills and life experiences, to prepare students to adhere to the ethical code of a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, and to promote the development of professional behavior including perspective taking, addressing bias, constructive and respectful problem solving, and collaboration.

Prerequisite(s): BEHV 2300  or BEHV 3150 .
